Hopeful for a ripple effect throughout the industry, Outsource Fiji and the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) conducted a three-month training program for leaders and trainers within the outsourcing industry.
Eight graduates of the IST (International Skills Training) program received their certificates on November 20, and are now ready to upskill their various companies and organisations.
“This pilot training program, among other training and education programs run by Outsource Fiji, is another leap for the outsourcing sector to equip the industry with trainers who possess not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical expertise gained through immersive experiences,” vice president of the BPO council Josie Prasad said.
Graduate Jovesa Naituku said the program “enhanced our teaching techniques and allowed us to give back to our various companies based on what was learnt”.
Outsource Fiji executive director Sagufta Janif, manager corporate affairs Hetal Patel and marketing and communications co-ordinator Shivika Supriya graduated in the hope of creating an academy within the industry body to train new employees and upskill existing staff members.
“APTC is looking forward to doing more partnerships and coalition trainings with Outsource Fiji,” APTC training co-ordinator Alisi Delai said.
“It is good that we try to maintain this relationship to improve the quality of training within your organisations to improve the standard of outcomes in the fields that you are in,” Ms Delai said.
APTC has similar trainings planned for several other local industries, upskilling those who provide training within their sectors.
